The Third International Conference “Crimea Global”

Join Truth Hounds at the Third International Conference Crimea Global in Kyiv! This year’s event will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s ties with countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America through discussions of shared challenges, global security issues, and the consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Date: 17-18 November

Format: Online and in person in Kyiv

  • Truth Hounds’ researcher Vitalii Poberezhnyi will present the key findings of our new study Killzone: How Russian Drones Are Devastating the River Dnipro’s Right Bank”. The so-called “drone safari” is a stark example of how rapidly advancing technologies are transforming the battlefield. During the panel discussion on modern methods of warfare against civilians, we will explore how new threats affect civilian populations and human rights – and how they can and should be addressed.

  • Maria Tomak, researcher and advocacy expert at Truth Hounds, will moderate a panel on the involvement of foreign fighters in the Russian army. Participants from Ukraine, Nepal, Kenya, Malaysia and India will discuss Russia’s recruitment campaign targeting fighters from third countries, its exploitation of cheap labour for the military industry, and ways in which this issue can be addressed.

Ukrainian and international experts will discuss issues of global security, Russia’s tactics against civilians, human rights, freedom of speech, the challenges faced by journalists and Indigenous peoples, as well as the need to overcome the legacy of colonialism.
